Sergio’s Wins Travel + Leisure’s Best Cheap Eats In Florida
Sergio’s Empanadas Win Over Travel + Leisure’s Best U.S. Cheap Eats
Sergio’s Restaurants have been recognized on Travel + Leisure’s Best Cheap Eats List for the state of Florida. Cooking Channel host on ‘Cheap Eats’ Ali Khan recommended the Cuban spot for the honor which he visited on his show last March.
“It took me all of 10 minutes upon landing in Miami to get my first empanada — I love them that much, and they sell them in the airport,” Khan said on Travel + Leisure’s website.
Sergio’s serves their delicious beef empanadas with a side of house chimichurri sauce for just $2.25. South Florida residents tend to pair this authentic Cuban staple with Sergio’s delightful Cuban coffee.
CEO of Sergio’s Restaurant, Carlos Gazitua is proud of Sergio’s spot on Travel + Leisure’s Best Cheap Eats list.
“Sergio’s empanadas are the perfect any time snack,” Gazitua said. “We are thrilled that our food was selected to represent Florida by Travel and Leisure.”
Sergio’s has served empanadas for decades – and the way they make them is unique for Cuban cuisine. The fillings are made fresh daily, and the empanadas are always baked – not fried. To finish the tasty treat off, the empanadas are stamped ‘Sergio’s’ on their flaky edges, trademarking their Miami staple.
